Greece approves 470 MW Evia wind power project

The Greek Interdepartmental Committee for Strategic Investments has approved the Evia wind power project with a capacity of 470 MW, with an estimated cost of 489 million euros. The project, which includes eight wind farms, four in the north-central part of Evia and four in the south of Evia (Central Greece), is expected to produce 1,591 GWh per year. The project will boost renewable energy production and support Greece's plans to phase out coal by 2028.
