The number of wind energy contracts fell by 28% in the third quarter of 2019, Caspian Energy News reports.
According to GlobalData, 171 wind energy contracts were signed in the third quarter of 2019, which is 28% lower than the average indicator fixed over the last 4 quarters (237).
A number of announced onshore projects was more – 128 contracts. The number of offshore contracts totaled 41. Looking at a global activity in the field of renewable energy projects, in terms of the number of contracts, the wind took the second position in the third quarter of 2019 with a 25.6% share.
Europe is leading in the field of wind contracts in the third quarter of 2019.
Comparing wind energy related contract operations in different regions of the world, Europe held a leading position with 71 contracts and a 41.5% share in the third quarter of 2019, followed by North America with 52 contracts and a 30.4% share, and Asia-Pacific region with 28 contracts and a 16.4% share.
South and North Americas are coming fourth with 15 contracts and an 8.8% share. The fifth place is taken by Near East and Africa with 5 contracts and a 2.9% share.
