TAP in the finishing straight

According to the data for the beginning of summer, the Trans Adriatic gas pipeline project was 96% completed. TAP is currently moving further into the project construction phase. Every day hundreds of meters of TAP’s Right of Way (ROW) are cleared, strung, welded, lowered into the trenches and backfilled, in line with the project construction steps and schedule.

The first gas supplies via TAP to Europe will start by the end of 2020.

Through a connection with TANAP, the TAP route is intended to facilitate the supply of Caspian gas from the second stage of development of the Shah Deniz 2 field to several countries in South-East Europe.  The TAP facility in Italy provides many opportunities for further transportation of Caspian gas to wider European markets.

TAP is one of the main sources of foreign direct investments in the EU's energy security.

TAP shareholders: BP (20%), SOCAR (20%), Snam (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).
