Last week the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the meeting with the delegation of Azerbaijan, which included representatives of SOCAR. Caspian Energy News reports this information, citing the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
Deputy Minister of Energy as well as officials of Uzbekneftgaz JSC and Uzhimprom JSC were representing the Uzbek side.
The parties discussed an issue of creating a joint venture aimed at exporting chemical and petrochemical products in the European direction.
These plans are realized in accordance with agreements reached in the course of the meeting of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyeyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, held within the framework of the meeting (October 15, 2019, Baku) of the Cooperation Council of the Turkic Speaking States.
Within the framework of the meeting, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation and Chief Marketing and Sales Manager of the Petrochemical Products Department of Socar Trading Rufat Katibli spoke about the interest in supply of crude hydrocarbons to the oil refineries of Uzbekistan.
Signed at the end of the meeting was an agreement on preparation and signing of the Protocol of Intentions, as well as a road map on creation of the joint venture between SOCAR, Uzbekneftgaz JSC and Uzximprom JSC, which will be engaged in export of chemical, petrochemical products and fertilizers to the European markets.
