“The World Bank will ensure financial and technical support to Georgia during and after the crisis. The group of specialists will assess the situation to elaborate a further plan,” said Mecry Tembon, the World Bank Regional Director to South Caucasus, who met Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili today at the special staff in Borjomi.

Together with the mineral water producing company Borjomi, Georgia’s TBC Bank will be restoring the 10 hectares of the area burned during the fire in Borjomi forest. PASHA Bank and some other companies also joined the Borjomi campaign.

It bears reminding that there were three main spots of strong fire in the forests -in Tsagveri, the village of Daba and the Tori Mount. For this moment there is positive dynamic and access has been ensured to fire spots. The fire had been stopped from spreading and now the next phase is fire extinguishing activities, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press office of the Ministry of Energy of Georgia.

Baku-Supsa, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipelines and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum gas pipeline do not run near the affected area. Accordingly, there is no impact on the strategic facilities and they continue to operate safely. The contractor continues monitoring and assessment of the situation to ensure safety of facilities.
