Azerbaijan’s GDP falling – CIS

According to the Statistics Committee of CIS, GDP of Azerbaijan (by 0.9%) and Russia (by 0.2%) decreased in the first quarter of 2018.

Thus, growth of nominal GDP of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan totaled 7.8%. Tajikistan’s GDP growth (in constant currency) totaled 6.5% during that period.

It is noteworthy that another Central Asian representative - Turkmenistan rounds out the top four. Its GDP growth totaled 6.2%, CIS Statistics Committee says. Reduction of industrial production has been fixed in Azerbaijan (by 6.8%) and Ukraine (0.7%).

A higher inflation rate has been registered only in Azerbaijan (5.6%) and Ukraine (3.9%). Inflation in Moldova Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Russia totaled 2.8%, 2.3%, 2.1%, 1.7%, 1% respectively.
