Retail trade turnover grows in Eurozone

Retail trade turnover increased in the Eurozone, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the Eurostat.

According to the data of the Eurostat, retail trade volume in the Eurozone (EA19) increased by 0.1%, EU28 – 0.4%.

Compared to the data of April 2017, the volume of retail trade both in the Eurozone and EU28 area grew by 1.7% in April 2018.

German statisticians explain the improvement of consumerism with a record employment rate, growth of salaries and decline of prices for energy resources.  According to the data of GfK, trade turnover reached 466.6bln EUR in 2016. This trend continued in 2017.

According to the information of the National Statistics Institute of Italy, the retail trade volume continued growing in March, but only at moderate rates, and increased by 2.9% vs March 2017.
